Pitch & Pay Park, Bristol

Dan Crawford Architecture were appointed to explore opportunities for improving the Ground Floor layout of this property within Sneyd Park Conservation Area, Bristol. The Client brief focused on extending the existing kitchen and providing additional Ground Floor accommodation, including a new bathroom and utility space.

A series of layout options and supporting 3D visualisations were developed, enabling the Client to make an informed decision on the most appropriate configuration for their needs. Design and Access Statements and Heritage Statements were prepared to support the Planning and Building Regulations applications, ensuring a smooth and efficient statutory approvals process.

The form, scale and external appearance of the extension have been carefully considered to remain sympathetic to the existing property. Key architectural features have been retained and enhanced, with proposed external materials selected to match and complement the existing building fabric.

The completed extension and internal refurbishment works deliver well lit, functional and well‑proportioned spaces with high‑quality finishes, providing a modern and practical living environment while respecting the character of the conservation area.

‘We engaged Dan to design and draw plans for an extension to our new house. He has been thoughtful, capable and diligent throughout the process. Because the new house is in a conservation area we needed planning permission for the changes and this was obtained on time and with no fuss. As important as anything, Dan was readily approachable throughout the process, provided clear advice and all was done to our agreed timetable. A really good architect’.
